The constitution of the Society sets out our aims and objects as follows:

  1. The study of the history, archaeology, antiquities and folklore of Carmarthenshire in particular and West Wales in general.
  2. To encourage public interest in local history.
  3. To encourage the preservation of local records, antiquities and objects of historical and archaeological interest.
  4. To co-operate with other bodies having similar interests.
  5. To arrange lectures and excursions to places of historical interest.
  6. To publish the results of local historical research in the Society's historical magazine, The Carmarthenshire Antiquary.
  7. To take any other steps which may be desirable in achieving the objects set out above.
