THE CARMARTHENSHIRE ANTIQUARIAN SOCIETY
CYMDETITHAS HYNAFIAETHAU SIR GAERFYRDDIN
Charity Number 260705
The Carmarthenshire Antiquarian Society, founded
in 1905, has a long record of promoting the study, collection
and conservation of the County's history and archaeology. Its
collection is the basis of much of the material in the County
Museum and the County Archive Office. The Society's Transactions
(to 1939) and the Carmarthenshire Antiquary (from 1940 to the
present) contain a wealth of information on the history of the
County's houses, rural life, families, antiquities and industry,
as well as archaeological finds and excavations. The Society is
a large, active one. Each year there is full programme of lectures,
trips and field days. Members receive a copy of the annual journal,
the Carmarthenshire Antiquary, and are regularly notified of all
programme events. We welcome all who are interested in the history
and archaeology of Carmarthenshire and West Wales and urge you
to join the Society.
