Aims & Objectives

 

 

The constitution of the Society sets out our aims and objects as follows:

  • (a) the study of the history, archaeology, antiquities and folklore of Carmarthenshire in particular and West Wales in general;
     
  • (b) to encourage public interest in local history;
     
  • (c) to encourage the preservation of local records, antiquities and objects of historical and archaeological interest;
     
  • (d) to co-operate with other bodies having similar interests;
     
  • (e) to arrange lectures and excursions to places of historical interest;
     
  • (f) to publish the results of local historical research in the Society's historical magazine, The Carmarthenshire Antiquary;
     
  • (g) to take any other steps which may be desirable in achieving the objects set out above
