The
constitution of the Society sets out our aims and objects as follows:
- (a)
the study of the history, archaeology, antiquities and folklore
of Carmarthenshire in particular and West Wales in general;
- (b)
to encourage public interest in local history;
- (c)
to encourage the preservation of local records, antiquities
and objects of historical and archaeological interest;
- (d)
to co-operate with other bodies having similar interests;
- (e)
to arrange lectures and excursions to places of historical interest;
- (f)
to publish the results of local historical research in the Society's
historical magazine, The Carmarthenshire Antiquary;
- (g) to take any other
steps which may be desirable in achieving the objects set out
above
